Autobiography
Hello, my name is Kassandra, founder of The Sixth Eclipse.
Like many meaningful journeys, this one began with someone I loved. Long before The Sixth Eclipse became a vision, a platform, a website, or a growing community, it was simply the love I carried for my younger brother, Sixto. What began as a deeply personal experience eventually grew into something much larger than myself—a project dedicated to memory, legacy, and human connection.
My younger brother, Sixto, passed away in 2022. He was my best friend, my person, and one of the most important people in my life. Losing him did not simply break my heart—it reshaped my understanding of life, love, memory, and grief.
In the time that followed, I found myself searching for something that did not seem to exist. Not advice. Not answers. Not a roadmap for grief. I was searching for a gentle, universal space that simply held room for the memories that mattered. Something soft. Something human. Something that reminded me I was not alone.
When I could not find that space, I decided to create it.
The Sixth Eclipse is named in honor of my brother. The word "Sixth" honors Sixto, while "Eclipse" honors the sky he loved very much. His favorite song was "Yellow" by Coldplay—a song filled with stars, light, wonder, and devotion. An eclipse is rare, beautiful, powerful, and in many ways, it reminds me of him.
It also reminds me of grief itself: a profound experience that changes how we see the world while never diminishing the love that remains. The Sixth Eclipse was born from that love. A place where stories can be preserved, where loved ones can be remembered, and where people can find companionship in the shared experience of carrying someone they miss.
This is my offering to anyone who has ever loved, lost, remembered, and continued forward.
